What we arrange when you switch
A good switch starts with a clear handover. These are the points we go through with every new client.
What we need from you
Your latest annual accounts, last year's returns and an export of your books or your bank statements. With those we draw up your opening balance sheet and pick up where your previous accountant left off.
Returns in progress
We agree together who handles which return, so there's no duplicate work and nothing gets left behind. If a return is still with your previous accountant, we tell you exactly what to ask for.
When to switch
Switching at the start of a new financial year is usually the tidiest, because the old year stays in one pair of hands. But switching mid-year works too. We then agree how to process the months that have already passed.
Your notice and your data
Check your current contract for the notice period. You have to keep your records either way, so ask your previous accountant or software provider for a full export. We give you a list of what to request.

Usually your latest annual accounts, last year's returns, a list of outstanding invoices and an export of your books. We send you a checklist when you start, so you can ask for everything in one go.
Yes. We look at what you've already booked and what still needs doing. We link your bank to MyTaxMate, so from then on your transactions come in automatically.
We agree that together when you start. Sometimes your previous accountant finishes it, sometimes we take it over. What matters is that it's settled, so no return gets left behind.
You pay a fixed monthly price that covers your VAT return, income tax, annual accounts and advice, cancellable monthly. If your books are up to date, there are no set-up costs. If there is work outstanding when you switch, such as last year's return still open, we charge for that separately and you hear what it costs up front.
