How to get your books out of Tellow
What we say here about Tellow comes from Tellow's help centre and terms as they were online in November 2026. Check it in your own account or contract; we go through it with you when you start.
Export via Reports
In Tellow you go to Rapportage, Exporteren and choose the type and the period. You can choose between CSV and an audit file. Take the audit file per financial year, plus your journal entries, balance sheet, profit and loss account and your purchase and sales invoices.
Cancelling is done by email
Tellow doesn't accept cancellations by phone or chat. The owner emails from the address the account was created with, and includes the customer number.
Export before you cancel
According to Tellow's help centre, you can no longer log in once you've cancelled. So get your exports in before you send the cancellation email.
Watch out for an annual plan
An annual plan at Tellow renews automatically for twelve months. Check when your renewal date is, so your switch fits around it.

Frequently asked questions about switching from Tellow
No. According to Tellow you can't cancel by phone or chat, only by email from the owner, sent from the account's email address with the customer number included.
The audit file per financial year, your latest annual accounts and the returns you've already filed. Keep your CSV exports and invoices yourself: you must keep your records for seven years, also after switching.
The tidiest moment is the start of a new financial year, because the old year then stays in one pair of hands. But you can switch at any time. We then agree how we process the months that have already passed and who handles the returns in progress.
You pay a fixed monthly price that covers your VAT return, income tax, annual accounts and advice, cancellable monthly. If your books are up to date, there are no set-up costs. If there is work outstanding when you switch, such as last year's return still open, we charge for that separately and you hear what it costs up front. Which package suits you is on the pricing page, or you'll hear it in the introductory call.
