Who are we?
At TaxMate we do bookkeeping a little differently. We are a dynamic start-up focused on financial and fiscal services for sole proprietors, partnerships and freelancers. From our office on the Singel in Amsterdam we combine smart technology with the expertise and personal approach of a traditional accounting firm.
We are building a new way of doing bookkeeping: faster, clearer and more accessible for entrepreneurs. With a young and ambitious team we develop not only our services, but also our own software: MyTaxMate.
Your role
As a Fullstack Developer you help build MyTaxMate, our own accounting web app. This software supports entrepreneurs with everything around their administration: from bookkeeping functionality to time tracking, trip registration, invoicing and other tools that make daily work easier.
MyTaxMate is currently used within our own services, but our ambition goes further. Ultimately we want to launch the platform as a standalone SaaS solution for entrepreneurs and accounting firms. So you get the chance to help build a fintech product with serious growth potential from an early stage.
You work on maintaining and improving the existing codebase, fixing bugs and developing new features. Think of integrating payment solutions such as Mollie, building quotation modules and developing integrations with e-commerce platforms such as Shopify and bol.com.
We also actively think about how AI can make our software, processes and development workflow smarter. We deploy AI purposefully where it truly adds value for the product and the organisation. Think of AI-supported automations within bookkeeping processes, smart internal tooling, agentic AI in DevOps, testing and monitoring, and further AI integrations that save our clients and our team time every day.
In addition to the web app we also have a mobile app for iOS and Android. Experience with mobile development is not a hard requirement, but a nice plus. Think of experience with React Native, Swift, Expo, EAS, app builds, releases or App Store / Play Store deployment.
What do we expect from you?
• You are available 32–40 hours per week.
• You have a technical background, for example through a degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Mathematics, Physics, Econometrics or a similar field, or through relevant work experience as a developer.
